Sinochem extends potash supply contract with Canpotex

Sinochem (Beijing) has extended its agreement to buy potash from the North American potash cartel Canpotex by one year, Sinochem said on Friday. Canpotex,  owned by PotashCorp. Mosaic and Agrium, will supply 1 million m.t. of potash during 2014. Canpotex ‘s potash sales in China are conducted exclusively through Sinochem, which controls Sinofert Holdings, China’s largest fertilizer supplier and distributor.   The price for potash is yet to be negotiated and should be fixed by the end of January, according to PotashCorp.
