Showa Denko Starts Production of Biobased Biodegradable Plastic

Showa Denko says it has started producing the biodegradable polyester resin Bionolle on a commercial scale using bioderived succinic acid at the company’s site at Tatsuno, Japan. Showa Denko says the product will be mainly used for consumer goods packaging applications in India. Showa Denko has begun supplying film-grade samples of the product.
