World News and Views :: Top of the News Saudi Polymers enters commercial production; Kayan begins trial runs at LDPE plant8:35 AM MDT | October 1, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz Saudi Polymers has announced the commercial startup of its petrochemical complex at Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Saudi Polymers is owned 65% by National Petrochemical Company (Petrochem; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) and 35% by Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical. SIIG (Riyadh) holds 50% in Petrochem. Saudi Polymers announced the completion of construction of the complex in June. The project, built on a total land area of 1.1 million sq meters at the Jubail industrial city, is designed to produce 1.16 million m.t./year of ethylene; 430,000 m.t./year of propylene; 1.1...
