World News and Views :: Top of the News Saudi Aramco and Total Pick Axens Technologies2:44 AM MDT | June 3, 2008 | Natasha Alperowicz Axens says it has been awarded a design package for a previously announced 400,000 bbl/day full-conversion refinery and aromatics complex at Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia being constructed by a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Total. The complex is scheduled to start-up in 2012. Axens and its alliance partners, Shaw, IFP ExxonMobil, and Total, are designing the complex, which includes a 32,000-bbl/day vacuum gas oil fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) and ParamaX aromatics complex producing 700,000 m.t./year of para-xylene and 143,000 m.t./year of benzene.
