World News and Views :: Top of the News Samsung Receives Large Refinery-Aromatics Contract in Algeria2:11 AM MDT | July 8, 2009 | Natasha Alperowicz Samsung Engineering has won a $2.6-billion refinery and aromatics contract from Algeria's national oil company Sonatrach (Algiers). It represents the largest plant order to be awarded to a Korean contractor in history. Under the terms of the deal, Samsung will be responsible for the rehabilitation, modernization and expansion of an existing oil refinery at Skikda, Algeria and the construction of a new aromatics complex there.
