World News and Views :: Top of the News Sabic and Sinopec Sign MoU to Build Polycarbonate Plant at Tianjin2:17 PM MDT | May 24, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz Sabic announced today that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Sinopec to build a previously announced polycarbonate plant at their joint venture complex at Tianjin, China. The announcement was made by Mohamed Al-Mady, vice chairman and CEO of Sabic at a press briefing at Chinaplas 2011 at Guangzhou. The total investment in the project will be over $1 billion, Al-Mady says. The 260,000-m.t./year polycarbonate plant is expected to become operational in 2015.
