World News and Views :: Top of the News Sabic and Sinopec Begin Construction of $1.7-Billion Polycarbonate Plant in China3:42 AM MDT | April 3, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Sabic and Sinopec say that their Sinopec Sabic Tianjin Petrochemical Co. (SSTPC) 50-50 joint venture at Tianjin, China, has today broken ground on the previously announced 260,000-m.t./year polycarbonate (PC) plant at Tianjin. The PC plant will involve a total investment of Rmb11 billion ($1.7 billion). Sabic and Sinopec had first announced plans for the project in May 2011.
