Russian plastics' output up, fertilizers down in the first half of this year

Russia reports a 1.5% decline in fertilizer output in the first half of this year, to 9.1 million m.t., expressed in nutrient content. The federal statistical service says production of sulfuric acid was down 6.6%, to 5.2 million m.t., while caustic soda production fell 2.2%, to 532,000 m.t. Productions of ammonia rose 6.1%, to 7.4 million m.t.; plastics 14.3%, to 3 million m.t.; and synthetic rubber 5.1%, to 776,000 m.t. Productions of detergents rose 2.8%, to 718,000 m.t., and paints, coatings and related products 8.5%, to 160,000...
