Tesla chooses Nevada for $5-billion gigafactory

Electric vehicle maker Tesla Motors has chosen Nevada as the site of its planned $5-billion battery manufacturing facility. The 'Gigafactory' is expected to be produce 50 GWh in annual batter production by 2020--enough for 500,000 Tesla cars. Elon Musk, Chairman and CEO of Tesla Motors, says the investment is an important step in advancing the cause of sustainable transportation and will enable the mass production of "compelling" electric vehicles for decades to come.
