Reports: Odebrecht buys Sabic's site in West Virginia

Odebrecht (Salvador, Brazil), the majority shareholder in Braskem, has closed the previously reported acquisition of Sabic's site at Washington, WV, local media reports say. The Appalachian Shale Cracker Enterprise (Ascent) purchased Sabic Plastic Innovations' site in Wood County, WV for roughly $11 million, the reports say. Odebrecht was not available for comment at CW press time. Odebrecht is exploring a project in West Virginia that would include an ethane cracker, three polyethylene plants, and associated infrastructure for water treatment and energy...
