World News and Views :: Top of the News Qurain Plans $1-Billion PTA and PET Complex in Saudi Arabia3:29 PM MST | December 15, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company (Kuwait City) is planning to build a $1-billion integrated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resins complex at Jubail, Saudi Arabia. It will be designed to produce 1 million m.t./year of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and 800,000 m.t./year of PET. Sheikh Mubarak Abdullah Al Mubarak Al Sabah, chairman of Qurain says the company will source its para-xylene feedstock from a local refinery.
