World News and Views :: Top of the News Producers Restart Operations Gradually at Plants in Japan1:19 PM MDT | March 18, 2011 | Ian Young Chemical plants in Japan are slowly resuming operations following the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck the northeast of the country on March 11. Mitsui Chemicals says it has resumed operations at its two sites in Chiba prefecture, on Tokyo Bay. These include the Mitsui DuPont Polychemicals joint venture, which makes specialty ethylene copolymers and polyethylene, and the Chiba Phenol jv with Idemitsu Kosan, as well as plants making acrylamide, and acrylic and polyester resins.
