Private Equity Firm Buys Stake in Univar

Private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R; New York) says it has agreed to acquire a 42.5% stake in Univar in a deal that values Univar at about $4.2 billion CVC Capital Partners (New York) will retain a 42.5% stake in Univar, while Univar management and other investors will hold the remaining share. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
