Port of Antwerp bulk chemical traffic up 10% in 2013

Maritime bulk chemical cargo traffic at the port of Antwerp increased about 10% in 2013 compared with traffic in 2012, to above 11 million m.t., the port authority announced today. Chemical freight increased more than three-fold at the port between 2000 and 2013. Antwerp has gained a significant market share in the liquid bulk sector for northwestern European ports, the port authority says. Liquid bulk traffic in Antwerp rose by 31.4%, to 59.49 million m.t. over the past 12 months, the authority adds. The port of Antwerp accounts for 60% of the total added value...
