Petronas and Evonik Industries form jv to produce specialty chemicals in Malaysia

Petronas and Evonik Industries have announced the signing of a letter of intent to jointly develop a project to produce specialty chemicals within Petronas’s $20-billion refinery and petrochemical integrated development (Rapid) project in Pengerang, Johor, Malaysia. The two companies will form a partnership to jointly own, develop, construct, and operate facilities for the production of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), C4 comonomer, and oxo products within Rapid.   The plants are expected to have capacity to produce 250,000 m.t./year of...
