PTT Global Chemical reports huge rise in quarterly profits

PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC; Bangkok) reports a nearly threefold increase in net profits for the second quarter, ended 30 June, compared with the year-ago quarter, to 4.17 billion baht ($133 million). Second-quarter sales decreased 19.6%, however, to baht111.88 billion. For the first six months of 2013, PTTGC reports net profits of baht16.24 billion and sales of baht253.19 billion compared with net profits of baht11.36 billion and sales of baht272.90 in the first six months of 2012.
