World News and Views :: Top of the News Orica Restarts Ammonia Plant12:53 AM MST | December 15, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh Orica (Melbourne) says that the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) of the state of New South Wales (NSW), Australia has on December 14, lifted the prevention notice on Orica’s ammonia plant at the company’s Kooragang Island site in NSW. The ammonia plant had been shut down since August 8, 2011 under the prevention notice issued by the EPA, following a sodium chromate leak. The restart process for the ammonia plant will begin today, Orica says. Orica says it has demonstrated to the EPA and other regulatory bodies that it has satisfactorily...
