Omnova Earnings Fall on Charges

Omnova Solutions reported net income of $3.5 million, or 8 cts/diluted share, for its fiscal third quarter ended August 31, compared to net income of $10.1 million, or 23 cts/diluted share, for the year-ago quarter. Current quarter results included non-recurring expenses totaling $6.7 million, and the year-ago quarter included non-recurring expenses of $700,000. Net sales increased 22.5%, to $227.9 million for the quarter.  Volumes improved 4% year-over-year....
