Novozymes Collaborates with Ethanol Developer to Improve Yeast Process

Novozymes says it has agreed to partner with Royal Nedalco (Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands), a major supplier of yeast and ethanol in Europe, to develop a fermentation process that can yield C5 and C6 sugars. Financial terms were not disclosed.   Fermentation of both types of sugars is essential for the commercialization of biofuel and chemicals derived from cellulosic biomass.
