Nine EPS manufacturers establish consortium for Reach authorization of HBCDD

ReachCentrum, a subsidiary of Cefic, says that nine manufacturers of expanded polystyrene (EPS) have joined forces to establish a hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD)-authorization consortium for the preparation of an application for authorization of the use of the substance as a flame retardant in EPS in buildings, under the European Union's Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach) legislation.
