New Company President Plans to Revitalize Rosneft

Rosneft (Moscow), Russia’s oil and gas major with petrochemical ambitions, has appointed Igor Sechin as the new president of the company. The appointment was endorsed by Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Rosneft is majority state owned.   Sechin was Vladimir Putin’s former deputy premier in charge of energy.
