World News and Views :: Top of the News Mosaic to Cut Potash Production up to 20% Through May9:30 AM MST | February 3, 2012 | Kara Sissell Mosaic says it will curtail potash production up to 20% through May of this year following similar announcements over the last two months from Mosaic and other producers, which cited poor pricing for fertilizer products on weakness in food commodity prices. Mosaic in late December announced plans to reduce finished phosphate production by up to 250,000 m.t. through March 31. The company says the curtailment announced today will result in lower operating rates at Mosaic’s mines, but is not currently expected to result in any employee layoffs or material mine...
