World News and Views :: Top of the News Mitsui to Expand Production Capacity for Spunbonded Fabrics10:37 PM MST | November 11, 2010 | Deepti Ramesh Mitsui Chemicals says it plans to invest about ¥5 billion ($61 million) to expand the production capacity for spunbonded fabrics at its wholly owned subsidiary Sunrex Industry (Yokkaichi, Japan). The expansion is in response to increased demand resulting from a growing disposable diapers market, Mitsui says. The production capacity for hygienic spunbonded fabrics will be increased at the Yokkaichi plant from 34,000 m.t./year to 49,000 m.t./year, and the commercial operation is expected to begin in April 2012.
