Mitsui Swings to Profit

Mitsui Chemicals recorded a first-half net profit of ¥17.1 billion ($213 million), compared with a net loss of ¥31.4 billion in the year-ago period, on sales up 22%, to ¥673 billion. Revenues at Mitsui’s petrochemicals segment increased 30%, to ¥211.2 billion, compared with the year-ago period.
