Mitsui Restarts Meta Para Cresol Plant at Iwakuni-Ohtake Site

Mitsui Chemicals says it has restarted the meta para cresol plant at the company’s Iwakuni-Ohtake production complex at Waki, Japan, that was shuttered temporarily following an explosion and fire at the site last April. The explosion occurred on April 22 at a resorcinol plant at the Iwakuni-Ohtake complex. The blast killed one Mitsui employee and injured 25 people, including 14 local residents.
