Mitsui Consortium Forms Joint Venture to Build Gas-Chemical Complex in Brunei

A consortium of Mitsui & Co and Mitsui Chemicals plans to establish a nitrogen fertilizer production joint venture in Brunei with Brunei’s state run petroleum company and market output from the complex in Southeast Asia, according to the Brunei Economic and Development Board (BEDB).   The project will require an investment of about Y230 billion ($3 billion) and, initially comprise plants with capacities for 850,000 m.t./year of ammonia and 600,000 m.t./year of urea.
