Mitsui Chemicals Hikes PP Composites Capacity in North America

Mitsui Chemicals and its subsidiary Prime Polymer (Tokyo) have announced plans to hike capacity for polypropylene (PP) composites for automotive applications at their U.S. and Mexico-based operations. The companies plan to add a new line in each of the countries taking the total in the U.S. to 226,000 m.t./year of PP compounds and in Mexico to 45,000 m.t./year.   A new 13,000 m.t./year PP compounding line will be added at Advanced Composites Mexicana’s Aguascalientes, Mexico complex by the second quarter of next year.
