World News and Views :: Top of the News Mitsui Chemicals Expands Tafmer Specialty Elastomers Capacity in Singapore10:00 PM MDT | August 29, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz Mitsui Chemicals said today that it will add 8,000 m.t./year of specialty Tafmer high performance olefin elastomer capacity at its Mitsui Elastomers Singapore subsidiary. The Jurong Island based project will cost about Y2.5 billion ($31.8 million) and is expected to be completed in October 2013. Tafmer, a flexible, lightweight elastomer with wide applications in automotive, industrial, and packaging material industries, is one of the group’s five world-leading businesses, the company says.
