Mitsubishi to Restart Mizushima Cracker by October 23

Mitsubishi Chemical will restart its naphtha cracker at Mizushima, Japan, which had been shut for an unplanned inspection, by October 23, say reports. The Mizushima cracker, which has a capacity of 496,000 m.t./year of ethylene, was shut down on October 9 after an unusual odor was detected. The company has found a crack in a piping joint, which it plans to replace, reports add.
