Mitsubishi Rayon to Buy Lucite?

Mitsubishi Rayon is in the final stages of negotiations to acquire Lucite International (Southampton, U.K.) for about £1 billion ($1.62 billion), according to a recent U.K. press report. Charterhouse Capital Partners, which owns 78% of Lucite--the world's biggest producer of methyl methacrylate (MMA)--and Mitsubishi Rayon have "agreed in principle," The Daily Telegraph report says.
