World News and Views :: Top of the News Mitsubishi Rayon to Buy Lucite?6:27 AM MST | November 4, 2008 | Natasha Alperowicz Mitsubishi Rayon is in the final stages of negotiations to acquire Lucite International (Southampton, U.K.) for about £1 billion ($1.62 billion), according to a recent U.K. press report. Charterhouse Capital Partners, which owns 78% of Lucite--the world's biggest producer of methyl methacrylate (MMA)--and Mitsubishi Rayon have "agreed in principle," The Daily Telegraph report says. Ineos owns a 20% stake in Lucite. Announcement of the deal is scheduled this month, the report says. Mitsubishi Rayon is being advised by Credit Suisse. Lucite...
