World News and Views :: Top of the News Mitsubishi Chemical to license oxo-alcohol technology to Qatar Petroleum-Shell jv1:58 PM MST | January 9, 2013 | Francinia Protti-Alvarez Mitsubishi Chemical has reached an agreement with Shell Chemicals for the licensing of Mitsubishi's oxo-alcohols production technology at the Al-Karaana Petrochemicals complex at Ras Laffan, Qatar—a joint venture with 20% and 80% stakes held by Shell Chemicals and Qatar Petroleum (Doha), respectively. Mitsubishi’s proprietary Oxo T-Process technology will be used at the Ras Laffan unit, which will have 250,000 m.t./year of oxo-alcohol capacity.
