Messer Signs Gas Supply Deal in Vietnam; to Build Gases Plants

Messer (Bad Soden, Germany) says it has signed a 25-year gas supply contract with Hoa Phat Group (Hanoi, Vietnam). Messer says its Messer Haiphong (Haiphong, Vietnam) subsidiary will supply gases for the second phase of the integrated complex of Hoa Phat Steel Joint Stock Co., a Hoa Phat Group subsidiary, at Kinh Mon, Hai Duong province, Vietnam. Messer will invest about $26 million to build a new air separation plant, which will produce 1300 m.t./day of gases such as argon, oxygen and nitrogen, and the unit will be integrated with the steel complex.
