Merck KGaA Posts Second-Quarter Losses, Cuts Full-Year Guidance

Merck KGaA posted a net loss of €86 million in the second quarter, compared with net profits of €183 million in the same period of last year, on sales up 16%, to €2.5 billion. The company also reported second-quarter operating losses of €11 million compared with operating profits of €326 million one year earlier.
