Massive Explosion at Iranian Plant Kills Five

A massive explosion at the Pardis Petrochemical Co.'s fertilizer complex at Assaluyeh, Iran caused a huge fire and killed five workers at 2 pm local time on Wednesday, according the to Mehr News Agency (Tehran). A ruptured gas pipeline is reported to have caused the explosion after welding sparks ignited the leaking gas. The explosion has caused significant damage to the complex.
