Lubrizol’s Earnings Rise on Strong Additives Segment

Lubrizol reported fourth-quarter net income from continuing operations of $59.7 million, compared to earnings from continuing operations of $21.4 million in the year-ago period. Sales rose 16%, to $1.15 billion. The company’s additives segment posted operating income up 24%, to $87 million, on sales up 21%, to $767. Lubrizol cites strong market demand in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America, as well as new product introductions and business gains.
