Lonza to Cut 193 Jobs in Switzerland

Lonza says it plans to reduce fixed costs at is sites as Basel and Visp in Switzerland by about SF40 million ($37 million) over the next 18 months, as part of a company-wide ‘re-engineering’ initiative, and to increase the competitiveness of its Swiss operations. As part of its cost-saving measures, Lonza plans to cut 193 jobs at Visp, and this forms part of the 450 job losses announced last October. Lonza employs 3092 people in Switzerland.
