Lonza: Strengthening Currency and Rising Raw Material Prices Affect Financial Results

Lonza, in its business update announcement for the first quarter of 2011, says that all its businesses benefited from increased volumes and growing product pipelines in the quarter. The company however, was impacted by the strong Swiss Franc and by rising raw material prices which put pressure on margins and as a result, the financial results for the first half is expected to be weaker than last year, Lonza says.
