Lanxess starts up largest leather chemicals plant in China

Lanxess says it has started up the previously announced leather chemicals plant in the Changzhou Yangtze Riverside Industrial Park, in China. The plant, with a production capacity of 50,000 m.t./year, is the largest of its kind in China and will strengthen Lanxess’s position as a leather chemicals provider in the local market, the company says. Lanxess invested €30 million ($39 million) in the facility, which employs about 150 people.
