Lanxess Brings Forward Butyl Rubber Project in Singapore

Lanxess says it will bring forward its plans to build the previously announced new butyl rubber facility at Jurong Island, Singapore. The 100,000-m.t./year plant, with an investment of about €400 million ($575 million) was delayed twice in the past, due to falling demand for the product. Lanxess says it will hold a groundbreaking ceremony in May 2010, and production is expected to start in the first quarter of 2013.
