Kuraray to expand polyvinyl alcohol film capacity at La Porte, IN

Kuraray says that its wholly owned MonoSol (Merrillville, IN) subsidiary will expand production capacity for polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) film at its La Porte, IN, manufacturing site. The expansion will involve an investment of $35 million and will be completed in July 2014. Kuraray acquired PVOH film producer MonoSol in July 2012. MonoSol manufactures and sells PVOH film for various industrial applications, such as packaging films for unit-dose detergents, agrochemicals, and dyes as well as mold-release films for synthetic marble, Kuraray says.
