World News and Views :: Top of the News Kuraray Reports Rise in Profits and Sales5:23 AM MST | February 2, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Kuraray reported an 13.6% rise in net profits for the fiscal first nine months ended December 31, 2011, compared with the year-ago period, to ¥25.4 billion ($335 million). Sales increased 2%, to ¥275.7 billion. Kuraray’s chemicals segment posted only a 0.1% rise in nine-month sales, to ¥56.25 billion, while operating profits for the segment increased 33%, to ¥7.9 billion.
