World News and Views :: Top of the News KBR Awarded Contract for LG Chem’s Phenol Plant in Korea12:06 AM MDT | August 18, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh KBR (Houston, TX) says it has been awarded a contract by LG Chem to license KBR’s phenol technology for LG Chem’s 240,000 m.t./year phenol plant at Daesan, Korea. KBR will also provide the necessary engineering services, and the plant is expected to come online in the first half of 2013. The Daesan plant will be the second license by LG Chem for KBR’s phenol technology. The first phenol plant at Yesou, Korea was licensed originally in 2002 for a 150,000-m.t./year plant and later the capacity was expanded to 240,000...
