K+S Sells Nitrogen Business to Eurochem

Eurochem (Moscow) says it has signed an agreement to acquire K+S's nitrogen fertilizer for €140 million ($182 million).   The sale is the “best option” for K+S and K+S Nitrogen employees following Eurochem’s recent acquisition of BASF’s fertilizer activities at Antwerp, says Norbert Steiner, chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of K+S.   The former BASF plants produce calcium ammonium nitrate-ammonium nitrate (CAN-AN) fertilizers, Nitrophoska-brand fertilizers, and nitrophosphoric acid, and under a contract...
