Johnson Matthey acquires Perstorp’s formaldehyde technology and catalyst business

Perstorp and Johnson Matthey say that Johnson Matthey has acquired Perstorp’s formaldehyde technology and catalyst business, Formox (Perstorp, Sweden), for 1.05 billion Swedish kronor ($161 million) in cash. Formox is the leading global provider of catalysts, plant designs, and licenses for the manufacture of formaldehyde, an important chemical intermediate, both companies say.
