Japanese-German joint venture expands special bisphenols capacity at Bitterfeld

Hi-Bis GmbH (Bitterfeld, Germany) has held a ground breaking ceremony for a €50 million ($64.4 million) project to expand capacity for special bisphenols at the Bitterfeld chemical park in Germany. Hi-Bis is a joint venture in which Honshu Chemical Industries holds 55%, Mitsui & Co. 35% and Bayer MaterialScience 10%.
