Invista doubles Shanghai airbag fiber plant's capacity

Invista says it has started up its recently expanded nylon-6,6 airbag fiber manufacturing plant in the Qingpu district of Shanghai. With this expansion, Invista becomes the first airbag fiber producer in Asia to exceed the 20,000-m.t./year production capacity in a single site, the company says. Invista established its airbag fiber presence in this location in 2008 to manufacture superhigh-tenacity nylon-6,6 fibers for automotive airbag applications.
