International Markets Boost DuPont's Earnings

DuPont reported net income for the fourth quarter, excluding significant items, of $522 million (57 cts/share), up 19% over the year-ago quarter, and beating analysts' consensus of 49 cts/share, as reported by First Call (Boston). Sales increased 11%, to $7 billion. Sales outside the U.S. improved 14%, helped by 20% growth in emerging markets, especially Brazil, China, and India, DuPont says.
