Ineos to close plants at Grangemouth, convert complex to shale-based feedstock

Ineos today announced new milestones in its previously reported £300-million ($499.3 million) survival plan at the company’s Grangemouth complex, in the United Kingdom. The company is closing, with immediate effect, the smaller of the two steam crackers at the site. The previously announced closure will also include the permanent shutdown of the associated butadiene plant.   Separately, the company says it has selected TGE as the preferred bidder to build the Grangemouth ethane tank as part of the planned ethane gas terminal.
