Ineos Planning to Sell Assets? (update, adds possible divestment of Italian PVC business)

Ineos declined to comment on reports in the U.K. press that the company is considering plans to sell some of its assets to reduce debt. The report in yesterday's Sunday Telegraph, quoting sources "familiar with its plans," says that Ineos "is understood to be looking at disposing of a number of businesses in the U.S." Ineos is a privately owned company. It is controlled by CEO Jim Ratcliffe, who built the company up, mainly through acquisition, to become the third-largest chemicals group behind BASF and Dow Chemical. Ineos generated sales of...
