World News and Views :: Top of the News Indorama subsidiary confirms PET project at BP site in the US1:24 PM MDT | March 22, 2013 | Lindsay Frost Indorama Ventures’ (Bangkok) polymers subsidiary AlphaPet has confirmed the construction of a previously announced polyethylene terephthalate (PET) production unit in the United States with BP as its partner in the project. The 500,000-m.t./year PET plant will be built adjacent to BP’s purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit at BP's Decatur, AL, site. AlphaPet is investing $190 million to build the PET unit, which is scheduled for start-up in the fourth quarter of 2015. BP’s Decatur PTA plant will supply feedstock directly to AlphaPet's planned...
